How to use terminals with KadePay

Connect your Stripe reader to your KadePay business, or turn a compatible phone into a contactless terminal with Tap to Pay.

Sign in and select the business you want to set up.

BEFORE YOU CONNECT

Start with the right business.

Sign in to KadePay and select the business that will use the terminal. Your business needs its Stripe payment setup and permission to configure terminals.

  • For a physical reader, charge it and turn it on.
  • Open Terminals and choose New terminal. The form may open automatically for your first terminal.
  • Enter a recognizable Name and check the Location. Add a location name and address if requested.

01 / WI-FI READER

Connect your WisePOS terminal

Use the reader's registration code to add it to your KadePay business.

  1. Connect the reader to Wi-Fi. On the WisePOS screen, swipe right from the left edge and open Settings. Choose your Wi-Fi network and connect.
  2. Generate a registration code. In the reader's settings, generate a pairing code. If asked for an admin passcode, use the one configured for your reader. Stripe's documented default is 07139.
  3. Add the reader in KadePay. Open Terminals > New terminal, enter the name and location, and select WisePOS terminal.
  4. Enter the code and save. Put the reader's code in Registration Code, choose Save, and check that it appears in the list. Repeat for each reader.

02 / BLUETOOTH READER

Connect your M2 portable terminal

Assign the reader to the person who will use it, then connect through the mobile app.

  1. Add the M2 in KadePay. Open Terminals > New terminal, enter the name and location, and select M2 portable terminal.
  2. Choose the user and save. Under Which user is using this terminal?, select the person who will take payments. Choose Save and check the terminal list.
  3. Open the KadePay mobile app. Sign in as the assigned user on a supported mobile device. Keep the M2 nearby and powered on, with Bluetooth enabled on the mobile device.
  4. Follow the app's connection prompts. Use the reader connection flow in the KadePay app when taking a payment.

03 / YOUR PHONE IS THE READER

Set up Tap to Pay on your phone

No separate terminal to order, charge or pair.

  1. Check your phone's eligibility. Tap to Pay is available on some compatible Android and iOS phones. Check readiness in the KadePay mobile app; not every phone is supported.
  2. Open Terminals. Select your business, then choose Turn on Tap to Pay. Finish Stripe setup first if prompted.
  3. Enable it for your login. Confirm the payment location address if requested, then choose Turn on Tap to Pay. Check the confirmation that Tap to Pay is enabled.
  4. Use the KadePay mobile app. Sign in with the same account, select the same business, create a charge and choose Tap to Pay. Follow the phone's readiness and payment prompts.

STILL CHOOSING YOUR HARDWARE?

Order your reader from Stripe.

Open Terminals > New terminal. Choose Order beside WisePOS terminal or M2 portable terminal to open Stripe's store. When it arrives, return to Terminals to add it to your business.

Choose WisePOS for computer, tablet or phone use. Choose M2 for Bluetooth payments through the mobile app. Eligible Tap to Pay phones need no separate reader.

Terminals Configuration

AFTER SETUP

Take your first payment.

Once your configuration is saved, use KadePay's payment flow to connect the reader and collect the payment.

Transactions
  1. Start a New Charge. Open Transactions > New Charge, enter the amount and description, and review the total.
  2. Use your terminal. Follow the payment prompts for your WisePOS, M2 or Tap to Pay setup. M2 and Tap to Pay use the KadePay mobile app.
  3. Confirm the result. Check the payment status in KadePay. If the connection is interrupted, review the existing transaction before charging again.

SETUP HELP

Terminal setup questions

My reader arrived. Is it already connected?

No. Ordering the hardware does not automatically add it to your business. Open Terminals > New terminal and complete the setup for its model. Add each reader separately.

I cannot see Terminals or my business is not configured.

Check the selected business. An owner or someone with permission to configure payment terminals may need to help. If KadePay reports that terminals are unavailable, check the business's Stripe payment setup or contact support with the message shown.

My WisePOS registration code is not working.

Check that the reader is online and that you entered its pairing code in the Registration Code field for WisePOS terminal. Generate a fresh code on the reader if needed, then try again.

My M2 is not connecting.

Check the reader is powered on and nearby, Bluetooth is enabled, and you are using the KadePay mobile app as the user assigned to the terminal. Follow the app's reader-connection prompts; Bluetooth pairing alone is not enough.

Can I use M2 with my desktop or laptop?

No. M2 works through the mobile app on supported mobile devices. For KadePay on a computer, use a supported WisePOS terminal over Wi-Fi.

Does Tap to Pay work on every Android phone and iPhone?

No. It is available on some compatible Android and iOS phones, subject to account eligibility. Check readiness in the mobile app on the phone you want to use. Eligible phones need no additional payment hardware.

Can I change a saved terminal?

Open Terminals and use the pencil/edit control. Update the fields available for its type, such as name, location or assigned user, and choose Save. Edit the existing configuration instead of adding a duplicate.

Does saving a terminal mean a payment is complete?

No. Saving adds its configuration to your business. Complete a payment through New Charge and check its status. Check an interrupted or uncertain transaction before starting another charge.
